The Oregon Trail Handheld Game

Let’s talk about The Oregon Trail Handheld Game, or maybe, Aventuras Clasificaciones as it is called in Spanish. It is probably the most famous board game of all time because it has won numerous awards and the early versions were set to be a grand slam in America for educational games. The game was created by Carlos E. Ribeiro in Chile, but he has now moved to Mexico. He is a social entrepreneur who is famous for creating programs for middle-class families in rural parts of Chile, providing them with subsidized internet and video games for them to enjoy in their homes. It looks like he has kept this project going. One of the people he is bringing with him to Mexico is his associate Adriana Villarreal.

She is a graphic designer for three web companies and she also worked for a publishing company, so she already had experience designing educational games and other games for web publishing. After some thinking, we decided to create a new game based on Aventuras, but with authentic 80’s graphics, so we could all enjoy it even if we didn’t know how to speak Spanish. That is when you should make sure the game looks like it came from the ’80s and that the designers had a lot of fun creating it. The designers for The Oregon Trail Handheld Game are Rene Reyes and Diego Toribio. Rene Reyes also designed the popular Confessions board game. He has developed a Spanish-English dictionary.

So, what else is there to know about the game? All the basic rules are easy to follow, and you will be able to conquer all the levels in no time. You start by choosing between two tribes, and the first one to get to the beginning of America is the winner. Then it is up to you to go out to a whole new frontier and explore a lot of different situations in order to make money while you are out on your adventure.
